I am looking for a logo for the company 2040. Our mission is to rid New Zealand of invasive pests (rats, stoats, possums, etc) which kill our native birds, by 2040. We will do this by selling monitoring and trapping technology developed by a sister company called The Cacophony Project (cacophony.org.nz). We have a basic website at 2040.co.nz.

So the core themes are environment, birds, pests/predators, New Zealand and Kaitiakitanga (Maori guardianship of the environment).

NZ birds evolved to live on the ground. Iconic birds include the Tui, Kea, fantail, kereru (wood pigeon) and Kakapo. Although the Kiwi is the most iconic of NZ birds we feel this has been used too much.

The feedback I’ve had from a few people I’ve shown this to is that in NZ the Kiwi image has been overdone (it’s the national bird). Could you try using other birds instead: fantail, kakapo, tui, kea, kereru

By the way - most NZ birds live on the ground - not in trees. Some like the Kiwi can't fly
