  I just went through and cleared out some entries. At this point, it looks entries that redraw or repaint the artwork along with the rules already stated in the contest will have the best chances of winning. I am most likely going to extend the contest deadline but I would like to hear how much time some of you require to repaint/redraw this art as best you can. Thank you everyone who has submitted already, you've all done a great job.

     Hello Grant, whether this is copyright infringement or not, I don't know. However, I can tell you that I do not intend to sell any of the images that the contestants make. I'm just a fan that wasn't able to find a good quality version of this image on the internet. This artwork was made for the packaging of a japanese exclusive figurine in 2014 and to my knowledge, the artwork has never officially been sold anywhere. I know that copyright laws probably don't care about whether I intend to sell the images or keep them for personal use but I can tell you that this contest was my last resort.

     The Xenosaga series is one of my favorite video game series ever and KOS-MOS is my favorite character in any medium ever. I love this series so much and I love collecting all the artwork that people make for it (official or fanart) that I just need to have a good quality version of what I consider the best artwork of KOS-MOS that I have ever seen. I'm sorry if my answer doesn't satisfy you but I do hope that my passion has come across at least a little bit through this message.   Should've mentioned this earlier but it would be greatly appreciated contestants could send me a link to their finished, full resolution entries. It would make comparing entries much easier for me to do but I understand if any of you are apprehensive of sending me your work before the contest is over.
