Too young to enroll for a music production course I...Audio production has been a passion of mine ever since I was in high-school with creativity being one of my key strengths. I would constantly scour the internet for instrumentals as my desire to understand how music was made wouldn’t rest until I got answers. Too young to enroll for a music production course I developed my craft whilst still attending high school at which point I trained in several instruments including drums and piano. Furthering my music knowledge was always my plan. In 2016, I left Kenya for South Africa, one of the leading countries in the music industry, to further hone my skills. I graduated with a Bachelor of Art in Sound Production at the SAE Institute Cape town in March 2019. Having been trained by award winning producers, engineers and musicians and been exposed to the pertinent qualities and values expected of an individual in the industry with relation to professional practice, ethics and credibility, has really helped me develop into an all-rounded audio production professional. During my four years stay in Pretoria and Cape Town, I had opportunities to set up live sounds for concerts and record a variety of musical artists. Film production was also included as part of the course content to help broaden my skill set. I possess both the theoretical and practical skills necessary to work in the broad scope of audio post-production, video production, design, photography, international entertainment and music industries. With a solid commitment to achieving excellence, I excel at utilizing various technical equipment and software programs including Pro Tools, Logic, Final Cut Pro, and Adobe Creative Suite, along with my keen musical ear to ensure optimal quality. Since my return in Kenya, November 2018, I’ve had the opportunity to work at both Supersonic Africa and Mojo Productions. Currently, I run my own company, in which I founded four years ago, KmusiK Studios, where I act as the Head Producer and Engineer.
