To convert financial statement data into Excel. Basically, take information from U.S. SEC filings/Company’s annual report and input into Microsoft Excel in a consistent format. We wish to include income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and some basic company information such as top shareholders, brief company profile, geo and product segment-wise revenue. The format of Excel sheet will be provided and you should adhere to the formatting.
Source information must come from SEC filings (10-K and 10-Q filings) and Company press releases only (no third party databases can be used).
The goal is to replicate the reported information into Excel in a consistent format with 100% data integrity (data must be TRIPLE checked).
As an example, you will be told the company is IBM. You will use the SEC Edgar/Company website to pull up the financial information for IBM. You will then search for 10-Q and 10-K financial statements. You will then input the data from these filings for the annual periods 2013 - 2018 (6 columns for last 6 fiscal years) and quarterly period for 2018 and 2019 (max 7 columns for interim financial period and 4 quarters of last completed Fiscal Year). You will input income statement, cash flow statement, balance sheet and some basic company information such as top shareholders, brief company profile, geo and product segment-wise revenue.
The required skills for this project:
- Accurate & fast numerical entry
- Double checking entries against source data
- Familiarity with various GAAP financial statements
- Past experience in financial analysis
- Fluency in English to understand source data and converse with employer
The goal is to do 5 project every weeks. Each project should take 3-4 hours. Freelancer will generally have ~1-2 days to complete each project.
