Student Grade Calculation Web Application
Step1: Create a login page for professor
→ Just login page is fine don’t create a page for registration of professor but login credentials are added to the database (MySQL) such that it validates with the login credentials in database.
Note: there should be logout after logging in
Step 2: Give professor 2 options
1. Show Class Average – in which it should show class average percentage and show graph WRT to percentages and complete students table shown below.
2. Add student – which helps professor to add a new student
3. NOTE: Should have an option for deleting a student row like all his marks name grade and everything. And also an option for modifying his marks at later stage. And also retrieving student data based on student id.
Step 3: Adding students and their marks information dynamically to database.
→ Create a student table where all his marks information should be stored from webpage to student table like
1. Student ID (this should be generated automatically by using auto increment)
2. Student name
3. Assignment 1 marks
4. Assignment 2 marks
5. Assignment 3 marks
6. Mid Term 1 Marks
7. Mid Term 2 Marks
8. Final Exam Marks
9. Grade (for that specific student)
Note: if I need to add another student to database it should give me an option after entering one student data after it is successfully inserted into database (student table) like in step 2 for adding student (don’t go to step 2 page)
(Or)
Repeat Step 2 again
Note: It should show some message like by using “JOptionPane”
Note: Assignment 1 – weightage 5%
Assignment 2 – weightage 5%
Assignment 3 – weightage 5%
Mid Term 1 – weightage 15%
Mid Term 2 – weightage 15%
Final Exam marks – weightage 55%

→ So calculate based on this weightage how much percentage he got for 100%
Ex: Student name: Chaitu
Assignment 1: 4/5 (weightage 5%) = %
Assignment 2: 3/5 (weightage 5%) = %
Assignment 3: 5/5 (weightage 5%) = %
Mid Term 1: 15/15 (weightage 15%) = %
Mid Term 2: 13/15 (weightage 15%) = %
Final Exam: 45/55 (weightage 55%) = %

Total (TPer) 85/100 =85% he got for 100%
Note: → Just use weightage as listed above so that it will be easy to calculate
→ Total marks shouldn’t be changed for each category listed above for assignment 1, assignment 2, assignment 3, Mid term 1, Mid term 2, and Final exam.
Grade Categorization:
A Grade: 90%-100%
B Grade: 80%- <90%
C Grade: 70%- <80%
D Grade: 60%- <70%
F Grade: <60%
→ Grade should be added to grade column in the student table of that specific student

Step 4: Finding class average percentage and provide graph based on each students total percentage and display table from database.
Note: Appearance should be good. It shouldn’t be just like a page.
For front-end development you can use PHP or JSP for your convenience.
Software requirements:
1. JSP – for webpages as well as java code development
2. MySQL database (don’t use hibernate or struts)
3. Netbeans IDE
Don’t use Ajax, like high level coding but it should be cool it should not only be like a simple page and form. Should have good images and graphics.
