Hi.
I am teaching myself java and I am trying to work out how to add validation to a GUI form. I am using eclipse and I want to use standard libraries (No third party software)
This is what I want to do
I want to create a GUI application that will display the gross pay for an employee.
The employee will enter the following info
Name
ID Number
Hourly pay rate
Number of hours worked
In the app design, I want to include validation/error handling to catch and recover from the following situations:
i. An empty string for the employees “Name”
ii. An invalid value for “ID number” (a string value)
iii. An invalid number for “Number of hours worked” (negative number)
iv. An invalid number for “Hourly pay rate” (negative number or greater than 40.
I want to show the error in the GUI, under the textfield that caused the error, not using popup windows
