D3 developer to improve functionality of a simple multi series line graph

I have a multi series line graph which fits a set of data in a cdv file. I need to add a couple of pieces of functionality;
1. Be able to remove and re add data which should be included in the graph, able to select it by something simple like clicking on the name in the legend and it 'greys' out the name and removes that data from the line graph.
2. Use the data from the multiline graph to make an average line that is shown on a different graph. The data that is removed from the original graph should make sure it is not included in the average one too if not selected in the original

Already experienced with different kind of d3 charts with user interactivity. I do not see any problems to implement this, but there is no much time if you want this to be finished before deadline.
