Correct webform delivery

I have a website ([url removed, login to view]) hosted with my service provider on a Linux Virtual private server
I have my mail server ([url removed, login to view] ) hosted at a different IP, on my own linux server, and defined under the MX record for the domain name.
All works perfectly except mail sent directly from my webpages to addresses within my domain name
eg forms and phplist mail
These are delivered (incorrectly) within the private server on my service provider
It should use the IP specified in the MX record and deliver to [url removed, login to view] ( on my machine )
I would like
a) an explanation of what is going wrong
b) a fix
