Web Jeopardy-Style Game

I want to have a game where I can set up questions (and answers) in a database, have a way to categorize them with scores (e.g. People for 500) and a way for participants in the game to "buzz" when they are ready to answer.

This project will require a lot of Ajax.

You will be required to sign a? separate? consulting agreement as a condition for payment.

## Deliverables

These are the pages I will need in a little bit more detail:

Administrative/Game Setup:

1. Category Setup

A simple screen where categories (strings) can be added, suspended and deleted from the database

2. Question Entry

A simple screen where we can enter questions and answers in 2 separate text boxes, select a category for a question, and assign it a score

3. Question Management

A screen where questions can be deleted, suspended, assigned a new category, or assigned a new score

Game Play - Game Master

4. There is one master screen where a new game can be started, the game master sees who "buzzed in" first for the current question, and can award the question as correct or false for the person who answered, can select the next field to be opened on the gameboard (see below) and can trigger the gameboard to show either a question or an answer.

Game Board

5. A table with all the categories on top and questions in the rows below (the cells should display the value of the cells). Questions that have already been answered should no longer show. This is the starting point for the game.

6. Question display: when the game master picks a category/score pair to be unveiled, this picks a question at random from the active question set in this category/value pair.

7. Answer display. Once the game master selects that the answer is displayed, the answer to the previous question is being displayed.

Player

8. When a new game is started, the user is prompted to enter her name. dDuring the game, this screen displays a "buzzer" - the first one to get back to the server is reproted to the game master, who can then give the player a chance to answer.?

This game will be played with 1 computer for each player, one computer to display the gameboard, and one computer for the game master. All the different pages should communicate with each other through the server, with Ajax (refreshing every .5 sec) where appropriate. This will be palyed in an intranet so security isn't as much of a concern. There will be only one concurrent game.
