Can I use a virtual webhost as a proxy for surfing?

I was thinking about buying one of those "keep your web surfing private"

services, but then it occured to me... I'm already paying $10/month for

web hosting. So hmmmm... I wonder if anybody has ever figured out how

to do it that way instead. In other words...

Is it possible to install some app or change some settings on my

website that lets me surf THROUGH the webhost?

Let me make sure I'm clear - I DO NOT want a form where I can enter

a URL and then have it display the content. There are plenty of sites

that do that, but they're a hassle to use.

What I want to do is go into Firefox, Tools>Options>Advanced>Network>Settings

and do a manual proxy configuration using my hosted IP address (and port info) so that I can surf normally using my hosted site as a proxy.

Additional facts:

1. This will be for my own personal use only, so I don't really need an

interface or anything... just instructions on how to do it... if it's possible.

2. This is just a virtual hosted account, so I do not have root access

to the server, so I'm kinda limited. I do have SSH access, however.
