VB.NET and Oracle

Program description.

I need a windows application written in VB.NET that can communicate with an oracle database. The excel sheet will need some formating when read into the .NET program to correspond with the Oracle database properly. Basically at that point it's a match process, check to see if the record from excel is in the oracle database, if it is not in there generate an error report and create insert statement in the error report to insert the data into the database later. Some data formatting is involved, comparisons, and error report. Pretty basic stuff. I need it quickly, will give bonus if you can do it

I need a windows application written in VB.NET that can communicate with an oracle database. The excel sheet will need some formating when read into the .NET program to correspond with the Oracle database properly.

The specifications are as follows:

1. User will need to be able to select an excel file. This excel file will have multiple tabs (usually 5) but the data in each tab columns is similar. Not all the data columns will have to be read in. I just need columns B, C, F, and V. The first row (row 1) of each tab worksheet are just headings so that doesn't need to be read in either.

Formatting of Excel data inside the .NET program:

Column B and C are date and time stamps. They need to converted just to date when read in to compare with an oracle database.

Column F I only need the number, sometimes in the column there is parenthesis like this (NOL) next to number, I don't need this for comparison. so need to format that properloy

Column V needs to be split into two. The first 12 characters and the last 4 numbers correspond to different columns in the oracle database. Please see logic below:

REQUISITION Column F : DOC_NUM Only need req number from excel, not the extra characters in the parenthesis (NOL)

CONTRACT Column V : first 13 characters

CALL Column V : last 4 numbers

REQUESTDATE Column B Convert to just date format to compare with database yyyy/mm/dd

RESPONSEDATE Column C Convert to just date format to compare with database yyyy/mm/dd

The program should first bring in all the excel data and do the formatting as mentioned above. All the data needs to be brought in from each of the tabs, if there are more or less tabs, program should adjust for that.

The program needs to check that the data from excel matches the data in the oracle database. The corresponding columns. If there is missing data, or data does not match. A flat file error record needs to be generated with the item in question and also an insert statement generated in the flat file. That way I can just copy and paste the insert statement to insert into the database.

The name of the database is called "MAGIC"and the password is magic.

The table in oracle is called shippinginst
