Develop API to check if website has a valid SSL certificate

We are looking for someone who can develop a simple api, which checks if a website has an activate SSL certificate. I want to be able to send a GET request with an URL in the body and get a yes or no in response.

The script needs to run on our website. So I will provide hosting and a domain for that.
