Basically speaking,

I want you to develope a web site for me that lists all vacancies at universities,

colleges, research institutes and other institutions of tertiary education. I will create an entry for each vacancy in the database that should be accessible through

the web page you will create. Each entry contains the

- job title,

- the scientific discipline (for example maths or English studies),

- the link to the original job offer at the web page of the publishing university,

- and maybe an excerpt of the job description (the first two or three lines).

Universities and other research institutions

wishing to augment the visibility of their job offers can buy adds with fully specified job details

which are displayed in a somewhat more eye-catching manner or as the first search results

when a job-seeker checks the database. Secondly, universities and other employers can buy

banner advertisements.

Let me describe more in detail the task packages which the project consists of:

1. Developing the database where I will include the job offers as described above. This dataset

should also allow including full job descriptions of paying employers (i.e. the points mentioned

above plus the full job description (not only the first few lines).

2. Developing the corresponding web page which contains (1) a search tool with search possibilities

institution, country, discipline, job level (doctoral, post-doc, assistent professor, full professor,

scientist etc) and (2) space for advertisement.

3. Installing an e-mailing function: users are sent regular emails containing search results on the

basis of their saved search.

4. Making the whole system operationable: I should be able to start work within short time and it should be

easy to adapt the design of the web page because you don't have to deliver a stylish page but only a first

proposition.
