Speedreading Tool

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for someone experienced in MS VBA to create a tool for speedreading MS Word documents.

The tool would work as follows:

- From the start point ( where the cursor is blinking) the tool will highlight the next chunk of words (e.g. 3 words in one chunk as indicated in variable chunk_size) in yellow color

- The tool will then wait for x milliseconds (e.g. 300 milliseconds as indicated within the waiting_time variable)and do nothing

- Then it will highlight the next chunk of words and remove the highlighting from the previous chunk of words

This needs to be programmed in MS VBA and should work on large MS Word files - ebooks.

The macro should be able to skip images easily, page numbers, and any text in the header and footer. the purpose is to speed read the titles and text within the document body only.

The macro will have a dashboard that is user-friendly so that the user can:

- start/stop the speed reading

- insert reading speed in WPM words per minute e.g. 600

- insert chunk size (# of words per chunk) e.g. 3

As key variables in the code: - please use the same naming

chunk _size: refers to the input of the user on the chunk size and represents the number of words highlighted at a time e.g. 3 words in one chunk

reading _speed: refers to the input of the user on the reading speed e.g. 600 (and this is the speed of reading in words per minute)

waiting_time: refers to the pause time between highlighting chunks

waiting_time = 1000 /(reading_speed/chunk_size/60) in milliseconds

example:

waiting_time for a reading speed of 600 words per minute and a chunk size of 3 words is

1000 milliseconds in one second /(600 WPM/3 words per chunk /60 seconds per minute) = 300 milliseconds
