I have been developing Access databases for small and medium sized organisations since 1996. I have worked in many sectors, Tourism, Finance, Education and Manufacturing have been the main ones. My goal is to provide an effective Admin system through better use of IT using the most suitable software.
I have been involved in the IT industry since 1983 when I did my university gap year at Siemens AG in Erlangen, Germany. I started off as a programmer in Basic, Fortran and PL/1. After 3.5 years of working for Logica in the UK and USA, I moved to back to England to work for a small consultancy called Kinesis Computing in Swindon where I learnt and used Informix4GL for 2 years. I then took a leap of faith and joined a very small company called Percival Software in Cirencester who sold and supported their own share registration software, which was written in MicroFocus Cobol. It was a great time I got to do sales demonstrations, customer support, user training and some coding. Recession hit in 1991 and I was out of work, after 6 months of temporary work I got a job with Blick Time Systems in Customer Support and Training. I left them to go self-employed in 1996 and have never looked back.
