.Net Simple Project

A VERY SIMPLE two part .Net project that must be written in C# or VB.Net. You must develop a web application and a client .Net forms application. You will have to set of directions (one for each project) and a data sample in a .csv file! This project was written to be done in JAVA, BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO DO IT IN .Net STRICTLY! Everything in the project description that relates to JAVA or .jar files must be interpreted to mean using a C# or VB.Net equivalent method. The whole project is in the zip file below!

PART 1) ------------------------------------

Background

This document describes the requirements for developing an application for ACME company that can traverse a given file system and perform an action on each file. Story Board ACME Company needs an application that traverses a root file system and performs a set of functions on each file. These actions could be anything from delete the file to create a thumbnail for an existing image. ACME asks that the actions performed should be pluggable, meaning that the framework you develop should allow new actions to be created and configured without modifying framework code. ACME wants a default action created to output the last modified date of each file encountered.

Project Deliveries

Below are the deliverables for this project. Please ensure to read them before starting the application.

Framework for processing a directory structure

• The file system traversing framework shall have a main method to execute from the command line. <- do this in a .Net equivalent!!!!!

• The file system traversing framework shall provide a mechanism for switching out actions. <- do this in a .Net equivalent!!!!! Actions for ACME Company

• The default action shall record last modified and file path from each file encountered.

• Two additional actions should be created. You have a choice of the following actions.

• Calculate Average File Size

• Concatenate All Files into one

• Create a Web Photo Album

• Find specified text within a file

• Count lines of code in a source file Output

• Provide an output that identifies each file by path and its last modified date. The output should be comma delimited.

• The output will be serialized by printing the action to a file named [url removed, login to view]

• Output from the second action is encouraged. It should be placed into a file called secondary_action.txt. Deliverables

• All source code should be placed into a jar file called [url removed, login to view] <- do this in a .Net equivalentand not a JAR!!!!!

• All compile code should be placed into a jar file called [url removed, login to view] <- do this in a .Net equivalent and not a JAR!!!!!

• The application should take two arguments

• Path to run the application on (File or Dir argument)

• Action to run (You supply the valid values for this argument)

• Documentation should be provided on how to run your software as well as to integrate new actions.

Background

This document describes the requirements for developing an application for ACME Company that can quickly query objects within a selected area of a dataset. Story Board ACME Company needs an algorithm that can quickly return points that are located in a bounding box of a dataset. The dataset potentially has millions of records with x and y coordinates and a value. The values need to be retrieved for a given bounding box.

Project Deliveries

Below are the deliverables for this project. Please ensure to read them before starting the application.

Requirements for processing a bounding box query

• The goal of this project is to retrieve the data accurately and efficiently. The faster the better. Less than 25ms or less would be optimal if possible. Also keep in mind, that your library may be used for multiple queries.

• The application must be able to run on a Dual Processor machine with 2GB of ram.

• The application should take four arguments to perform a query 1. Upper y 2. Lower y 3. Left x 4. Right x

• The application should read from the supplied file [url removed, login to view] Data for ACME Company Below is a sample of a dataset file for ACME. Output

• Provide an output file called [url removed, login to view] that contains comma delimited results as show above. Deliverables

• All source code should be placed into a jar file called [url removed, login to view] <- do this in a .Net equivalent and not a JAR!!!!!

• All compile code should be placed into a jar file called [url removed, login to view] <- do this in a .Net equivalent and not a JAR!!!!!

• Provide a main entry point to the application (HTML, Swing, Command Line) <- do this in a .Net equivalent!!!!!

• Provide a main library interface to be reused within other code <- do this in a .Net equivalent!!!!!

• Documentation should be provided on how to run your application. The whole project is in the zip file below:
