Clean up or redesign Beach Bar Logo

For a laid back, club style Beach Bar on the island of Koh Chang, Thailand, we need a cool modern logo.
A friend has done some work, but never got around to finishing up. The attached logo is the direction we want to go and works well on our predominantly black backgrounds. It however sucks on a white background (as it was designed on a black background.)
So the logo either needs to be redesigned to look good on both black and white backgrounds or re- layouted and "cleaned up" accordingly.
The final product should be high res files with black,white and transparent backgrounds for use in print, media and webpage.
Make us an offer and / or get free stays at our beach villa on Koh Chang and/or free cocktails at the beach bar.
