An environmental math equation for a consumer grade mobile app

Do you love putting your skills to their best efforts for education? Do you care about improving the environment and educating our younger generation as to how to protect and preserve the world and our precious resources for future generations? Yes?

We are looking for a unique individual to assist use with constructing a mathematical equation that can be used for education in a mobile application environment. We are a social Good company concerned with rescuing used secondhand goods from being disposed of in the dumps and landfills of the world. Our disposable approach to goods today is furthering adding to the toxic and noxious effects of waste and that's affecting our environment globally.

We want to find a very simple way to quantify the effects of rescuing a bike or bookcase, for instance, from a friend and show how you as an individual have made an impact, weather in carbon footprint or toxic gases released. We are very open to Ideas when it comes to what and how our users are making an impact.

We can ask our users for key information like what the product weighs, what is the main material, what is the value new and used. Our audience is primarily millennials on campuses in the US and Baby-boomers with too much stuff. Our product connects these age brackets and partners them with stuff. Lots of stuff. This stuff normally would find it's way to a donation facility and shortly there after, a dump.

Our product is a friends and family network too. So you will also see the total impact you and your friends are making in the world as well.

Got some Ideas? We are all ears! Please offer us your thoughts and Ideas as to how to accomplish this task. If we use your Idea it may be published so it's important that it's founded in some real data, statistics, or a recent study. Your Idea will also help to unify communities and friend groups! Additionally we are partnering with universities in the US to offer this service to students as a tool to document their stuff so as to offset the waste students have at the end of semesters and when they go to move out.
