Stock Market Tick and Minute Data Capture for Transfer to MSSQL

This project requires the capture of quote data supplied by a web service data interface application and its immediate transfer to an MS SQL database. The objective is to store incoming data that includes the Ticker, DateTime, Open, High, Low, Close values and Volume if available. The data capture interface is mainly required to capture data for a limited number of major indices, but it is desirable for the solution to also capture data for at least one commodity and one currency. This data is intended for local use only for analysis and education and is not intended as a commercial product. The existing SQL schema has been constructed and will target SQL Express 2008 R2, but also needs to be compatible with SQL 2012. LUA is the common language used for this type of resource although WPF and C# is an option for a simple and functional interface to control the application and any settings. The data capture resource is required to operate 24/7 and only store quotes when data is present. The resource needs to be both x32 and x64 compatible and is targeted for a Windows Server such as 2008 or 2012. The application needs to provide an alert via email if it stops working. The application needs a basic login to prevent unauthorised access. More specific details will be provided on request.
