Paper-core cutting machine design

Hi Andre, This is Bogdan from Romania. I'm a mechanical engineer - specialized in the industrial robotic field, 3D designer and modeler (from time to time and some projects I could make the functional prototype too). I'm doing product design, industrial design, reverse engineering, ideation, etc. I have over 15 years experience working on various systems/devices across multiple industries, from concept to launch. 1 - what you really need is actually a workstation as it implies more operations in a single workplace 2 - as the cores varies in size (lengths and diameter/wall thickness) it will be necessary to have a compliant inner holder which to "expand" and held the core while the cutter will cut the plastic 3 - for sure it will be possible to have a better feeder for the cores into the machine and also a faster way to cut the plastic with minimum damage for the core 4 - there are a lot of issues to be addressed and fixed, bu in the end it is possible to be designed and build... (i have my own workshop and we could also discuss about building a prototype..., after the machine design is done) as you realize for sure, the price in the bid is not the real one, but i'm sure we could find a way to work on this... do you have some kind of video for the process you do manually? i would like to see it to understand the job better. I believe to automate anything, we must understand the manual operation completely to have the best result possible in that process. A sample video can help a lot in understanding how the material is handled and process and can provide the stepping stone for the automation.
