Looking for an Opscode chef developer to write cookbooks for Graphite and Collectd on AWS linux.

My team is migrating to AWS and I’m swamped so I’m looking for someone to help with integrating chef recipes and I’m seeing if Freelance will be a cost effective time saver. The task is to modify existing open source Opscode Chef recipes for installing Graphite and Collectd to work on AWS linux using chef-solo. The Collectd chef recipe will populate Graphite with default system metrics. This is the first of many recipes we need, and if we like it we will consider you for future chef cookbook projects. We will likely hire multiple candidates for this phase to find the best developer. Final deliverables: We will download the chef repo and run the chef-solo wrapper script on a fresh EC2 instance running the latest Amazon Linux. Graphite-web should be running with system metrics data available for viewing. Chef recipes based on open source for - installing graphite installing each dependency of graphite (whisper, carbon, etc) installing collectd to feed default system stats into graphite The idea candidate will: Write clean code adhering to Opscode chef standards to implement the desired requirements with little or no supervision. Comments should be used to give background information or annotate difficult code. Have strong communication skills, proficient with English, and comfortable speaking on Skype. Required Skills: Ruby, Opscode Chef, Linux administration, Graphite experience. References – What other startups have you worked with?
