Flipping eBook \ eBrochure \ eMagazine \ Album(repost)

I need to build an engine that from a PDF generates an eBook \ eBrochure. The resultant will need to work for online (web) and offline (CD) viewing. Each document could have options for search, print, download, index, tell friend, go to page, and others. I know it's more possible to be done in ActionScript or something similar. Only as reference my expertise is more in Visual Basic (6 to .Net 2005). I know is difficult to be done in this plattform.
