build a website/blog with appointment booking and payment

Website intention: To create a website/blog that will give information to the reader and provide the facility for them to book and pay for online consultations with the blogger/natural therapies practitioner (and to also pay for prescriptions when they are to be mailed out). Site requirements: A home page that allows for articles to be posted with categorised archives found through the menu topic tabs. Articles can be commented on by readers. On the home page (side column), ‘popular’ or ‘most read’ categories of articles. A real time system for booking appointments is to be used or developed i.e. client first determines the type of appointment (15, 30 or 60 minute appointment), appropriate length time slots are then visible on the calendar, client then chooses from the time slots available, if 2 clients choose the same time slot the one who first makes payment secures it with the other being notified before or at checkout that this time slot is no longer available. Could use the Genbook plugin as a booking system or something similar, or just build one from scratch (depending on the cost). Payment facilities (PayPal, credit card, direct transfer) for appointment or prescription. Automation – questionnaire and receipt to be emailed upon payment and reminder of appointment to be emailed 24 hours prior. The look or aesthetics of the site will be important as will be its efficient functioning.
