EDI SOAP REST Data Integration

We have a system that takes care of updating the inventory of the products we sell. This system brings the inventory of our different suppliers to our database. As of now, we are integrated with 6 of our vendors, each has a particular way of getting the data and we want to integrate with 2 more. The details of the integration are described at the end, the summary is as follows: We have a MySQL Database that holds the information of all the vendors in different tables, 14 fields (Vendor name, Part Number, Description, Image URL, Cost, Price, Stock and a few others), we need the system to be able to go to the vendor, login with the particular login process of that vendor, get the information (full catalog) and import it in our database in the respective table/field. Some things to consider are: Vendor information sometimes lacks of quality; it has invalid characters that have to be validated and replaced or removed, the product stock sometimes is displayed by the different vendor warehouses and it must be summarized into one total stock. Every day now (maybe we’ll increase it to a few times a day), the import process is run triggered by a Cronjob that is programmed in the server. Each vendor has it’s independent cronjob so the server doesn’t get saturated and it’s easy to track and trace down if there’s an error in the process. After the information is in the table, the rest of the process is run by a different program independent of this project. Vendor 1 uses SOAP messaging protocol and its Web Service is developed in PHP Vendor 2 uses an API with REST or RESTFUL Architecture.
