Hello, To best meet your goals in the software you hope to have I would take the following steps with you and the users of the program. 1. Fully understand the requirements and produce mock ups. This would involve communication and discussion about the needs of the business, goals and working with users. Depending on complexity this may be a long or short. 2. Create first pass mock-ups. An interactive, bare bones, demo application so that both parties can refine the details. This would take the least time. 3. Development of full application. Using information and feedback from steps 1 and 2 I would build the final application. During key milestones I would check in about progress and usability. This would also include testing. This would take the majority of the time. 4. Tweaking, bug fixing and documentation. Working with users I would do final testing and create manuals. This would also include deployment of the final product. Besides that initial I will be willing to provide limited free support on the application. The program would be written in the popular C# language and full source code would be provided at end of contract to provide flexibility for the customer to work with other developers.
