I'm currently making an MMORPG. I'm a single man team, so development is slow but progressing. It's got to the stage where I'd like to start thinking about 3D modelling.
I hope to find a modelling expert which I can continually go back to for further work. So rest assured, future work is possible! I hope to build up a working relationship.
First thing I need done is two characters (one male, one female) and these two characters will be used as the model for every player in the game. I want to offer customization to players in the form of changing colour of clothing, changing skin textures, and changing hair styles perhaps. Also, I want armour and weapon sets to be created so players can equip various armours and weapons, however this is to be ignored for now, all I'm after is a character! Firstly, let's worry about a simple male character with some basic peasant clothing and one skin texture.
I'm hoping for not only models, but texturing, rigging, and animation services. The animations I'm after aren't complicated, just simple walk cycles and perhaps sword swings, so hopefully this won't add to the expense too much.
I'll admit, budget is my biggest project limitation. I of course want to pay a fair price for a good model, but please understand that cheap models are what I'm after, and therefore expect you to cut corners where you have to in order to reduce the cost of the model. Polygon characters are traditionally cheapest from what I've seen, but please bare in mind I'm going for a realistic looking game, so a realistic (non-cartoony) model is what I'm after.
My knowledge of how much this kind of work costs is somewhat limited, so please send in any proposals and perhaps we can work something out!

I for characters I use a software called Zbrush where I can make high detailed models and also textures and maps ( Like normal map, displacement, etc.) and I can show you the progress of the character so you can make the changes that you beliebe are necesary.
For weapons, rigging and animation I use Autodesk Maya :D
