Development of new features for the Firmware - TrackerD v1.4.5

Objective of the project: Implement an additional feature in the trackerD firmware to add a rules engine to BLE scanning. This function will allow you to filter the iBeacons based on their proximity to the GPS, using the RSSI of the signal. In addition, the nearest iBeacon is required to stay within a predetermined RSSI range for at least 1 minute before the device will send an upstream message, which will include the iBeacon's UUID. Tasks to perform: 1. Existing firmware analysis: The developer will need to analyze the current trackerD firmware to understand its structure and how existing functionalities are managed, especially those related to obtaining GPS location and searching for iBeacons via BLE . 2. Design of the architecture: Based on the analysis of the existing firmware, the developer must design the architecture necessary to integrate the new feature. This will include defining the sequence of events to first obtain the GPS location and then search for the nearest iBeacon, as well as setting the method of transmission of the information. 3. Analysis and design of the rules engine: The developer must analyze the requirements of the rules engine and design its architecture. This will include defining how iBeacons will be filtered based on GPS proximity and RSSI signal stability, and how the minimum time spent in the default RSSI range will be controlled. 4. Implementation of the rules engine: The developer will have to code the rules engine in the trackerD firmware. This will involve creating algorithms to compare the proximity of the iBeacon to GPS and assess the stability of the RSSI over a given time range. 5. Integration with existing BLE scanning: The rule engine must integrate with the existing BLE scanning in the trackerD firmware. The developer will need to adjust the BLE signal reception and scanning logic to apply filtering based on the rules defined by the engine. 6. Updated decoder design: Based on the analysis performed, the developer will need to design the updated decoder that can correctly interpret the upstream message as per LoRaWAN requirements. This may involve adding additional fields, performing conversions, or adapting the format of the message. 7. Testing and tuning: Extensive testing of the rules engine must be performed to ensure that it works correctly. This will include checking that iBeacons are filtering correctly based on proximity and RSSI signal stability. Adjustments will be made as necessary.
