The project is quite simple. 1D USB barcode reader is connected to raspberry PI or beagleBone. The reader should read cca 20 barcodes and save them to sql database ( SQLite or mySql ). Program on PI should run all the time and when the same barcode comes again, program should trigger GPIO and start one 12V relay. So program should have two parts. Reading / filling the database and comparation and output on GPIO. Example of the program workflow: - user enters " INPUT NEW BARCODE" section - user fills the batabase with 20 barcodes and saves/exit this part - customer with bill and printed barcode put's his bill in front of scanner - if the barcode is the same as the barcode in the database, GPIO and relay are triggered - door is opened Additional info. - who ever will work on this project must be avaliable over skype and be ready to make some code changes in the future. Hello, This bid is for 1 hour + 30 minutes testing with you (installing, making instructions, etc). The application is for the RPI and works like this: 1) Waits for a codebar, when it receives a valid one it switches a GPIO pin for X amount of time. 2) Uses a txt for configurations (X time, pin number and allowed codebars) That's all

Hi ! I'm the perfect candidate : I know C very well, SQLite like no other and I own a beaglebone black, so I understand how to have it activate its GPIO. I can get the barcode reader to be able to test the software, and I have a couple of friends who have raspberry pis and who would allow me to test the whole thing. The only downsize of hiring me for this job is that I can not always talk on skype: my wife is a teacher and gives lessons over skype right next to me, so when she is working, I can not talk at the same time. my full-time job deal with usb dongles, make these dongle work on different platforms, raspberry is one of these platforms. my estimation this project can be done in one weekend. i just start doing freelance job, this one looks perfect for me. I have some questions about this project. 1. why you need sqlite for such a simple application? if there are valid reason to use sqlite, i want to know more detail to avoid underestimate. 2. is this a command line application? i would quit if you need fancy GUI. 3. what do you mean by "be ready to make some code changes in the future", free of charge life time warranty?
