Like an accelerated velocity of informational inexactitude, the rumors went down in every corner of the institution. The holy damnation of the dumbs shall happen. It shall be an adventure, scary, but not that scary. I believe, it is my priority and obligation to be judged and condemned for those scriptures and constructs I have done the wrong way.
And it’s my turn to the bully pulpit. My introduction which I included a redundant statement, creation of new words or simply coinages, fragments, and the exaggeration of things up was my previous act. English 8 or Technical Writing course introduced me into the real and technical world of writing. Upon hearing the name of it, I did not pay much attention to it having in mind that some things in this University are mediocre in nature. That got me totally wrong. English 8, manned by our “humble” Professor George Gunay has changed the common approach of the student’s way of writing and logic. This is not subjective. And when I say not subjective, it is a universal truth. Technical Writing confiscates our right to be wrong and offers us high-level and intellectual styles of doing constructs as that the seasoned writers and playwrights do.
Technical Writing, a different dimension of English course focuses our minds to an extraordinary manner of thinking things up. It tells us that simple constructs can be the most damaging and explosive constructs. Then, if you can do an explosive simple construct, it will be easier for you to do a complex thus amazing construct, thanks to your simple foundation.
Technical Writing is indeed a discipline, which you are obliged to acquire, furnish and operate. This is a social need and somehow a financial pre-requisite. At the end of the day, if you have it, you’ll live with it. Live to learn, learn to live.
Education plays a very important role not only for individuals but also for the society. It is a tool for one’s personal development in all aspects of his life. Education can give much of its entirety to those who wants it to be given. However, this shall be bound to question if certain factors come to rise.
According to Wikipedia, technology is an increasingly influential factor in education. Computers and mobile phones are used in developed countries both to complement established education practices and develop new ways of learning such as online education. Mobile phones made drastic evolution in every man’s life. Texting and calling through these mobile phones made communication a lot easier.
Texting, made possible by telecommunication companies has changed the way how societies communicate. Telecommunication networks have varied ways of attracting subscribers. Affordable promotions, better signal and mass media orientations are just some of it and sometimes the reasons for subscribers to subscribe. Students easily indulge into these marketing styles which in turn put significant remarks on their academic evaluation.
Telecom networks have set their ways of getting their loyalists and patrons, and Mindanao State University-GSC campus is one taking advantage over its usage. Respondents of this study were all students who are cellphone users subscribed to Globe, Smart and Sun telecommunication companies. This study would show the most used SIM and its effects to the academic performance of students.
