Objective A few months ago, I attended a workshop that T.V host of Quite Frankly, Steven Smith, held at Delaware State University. I was a bit quiet, but I was in flames with ideas. I am young writer, and I major in English. I'm currently trying to pick a minor. It will most likely be either music or theatre. Poetry is essential to me, and it is my passion. I know your company has many opportunities that will help continue to light my passion. Organizations 2000-2004 Baltimore Urban Debate League Balto, MD BUDL • I was elected captain, and became a establish leader. I won several awards such as 3rd place varsity team, and my debate partner was announced also the most improved Novice Debater. I continue to attend Debate tournaments even when I moved to the state of Delaware. • I was elected to attend a Debate Camp at Northwestern University in Northern, Illinois. • I was promoted to Junior Varsity. I became Chief Researcher of Mergenthaler Voc. Tech. H.S, and I distributed the most evidence every in that position. • I was elected to attend a scholarship funded debate camp in Atlanta, Georgia at Emory University. • I became most improved Novice debater and a star player on my team. I average 2 out 3 wins towards the end of my first year. 2004- Bible Student Union Dover, DE BSU • This organization performed baking sales, and bowling night sales in order to raise money for the organization. • Local pastors attended our sessions, and at times lead them. • The Bible Student Union participated in a Downtown Dover, Delaware parade. 2004-2005 Model United Nations Dover, DE 2004- Spoken Word Artist United Dover, DE SWAU • I performed in a school poetic play that gave all theatrical profits to charity. • I was one of the main fore-frontiers in the top three scenes. • We perform with local schools such as University of Delaware. • We held many open mic/poetic performance nights. • We perform at several school talent shows. Radio 2004- DESU “THE HIVE” Dover, DE • I hosted a daytime rhythm and blues radio show that focus on political, musical, humorous, and all other types of new. • This show hosted many promotions for local talent. • I have acquire the positions as News Director of WDSU Radio Station • In this position I am responsible for all incoming and out coming local, national, and campus base news. • I have developed a news team entitled, “The News Line”. This team is responsible for creating public service announcements informing Delaware State University on various issues • I have participated in Delaware State University’s Newspaper called, “The Hornet.” I have submitted numerous amounts of poetry, and articles such as “Bush Reminds America.” Future Goal I am currently working on my first novel as well as two poetic book series. I was born November 17th, 1986 in Baltimore, MD. My young wise eyes filmed the horrors and joys of Baltimore City. I remember the warm summers full of kid’s laughter, and grilled meat polluted the air. The horrors of crime and the troubles of city life influence my hunger for better.
