I have 4000 words which are divided into 20 different categories. These words now to be divided into subwords. E.g. if you have the word football, this word could be divided into the suwords foot and ball (only one example). The same word could also be divided into f, oot, ba, ll and a lot of other sub words.
So I need someone to divide each word in 8 different ways. For the word football it could be:
1. foot, ball
2. f,o,o,t,b,a,l,l
3. fo, ot, bal, l
4. Fo, ot, ba, ll
5. foo, ba, ll
6.etc..
Each word should be divided into:
1. Two sub words where the sub words are divided into equally long words. For the football example it would be: foot, ball
2. Three sub words where the sub words are divided into equally long words (if the word is not even then there as to be one sub word of 1 or 2 character length. For the football example it would be: foo, tba, ll
3. The sub words are divided into single characters each. For the football example it would be: f, o, o, t, b, a, l, l.
4. The sub words are divided into two characters each (if not even characters there will be 1 sub word of the length 1 character). For the football example it would be: fo, ot, ba, ll
5. For words longer than 7 characters: The sub words are divided into 4 random length characters. For the football example it could be: fo, t, b, all
6. For words longer than 9 characters: The sub words are divided into 5 random length characters. For the programming example it could be: pr,o, gra, mm, ing
7. For words longer than 11 characters: The sub words are divided into 6 random length charaters. For the microbiologist example it could be: mic, ro,b, i, olo, gist
8. For words longer than 13 characters: The sub words are divided into 7 random length charaters. For the microbiologist example it could be: mic, ro,b, i, olo, gi, st

I am the premier Perl scripting expert on these freelancing sites. I will create a subwords subroutine for you to include as a Perl module (.pm file) in any Perl script. The subwords will be called with the string and return a list of lists with the answers to parsing the string according to rules 1 through 4 and then whichever rule 5 through 8 (if any) applies. Any constraints on uneven lengths: offset of odd subword?
To generate max number of combinations | any combination?
Can be done in Perl in a day or two.
