before you bid must be experienced in the subjects mention below. if you are not please do not bother with bidding. 1- Understand the difference between open-loop and closed-loop (feedback) control systems and understand both the advantages and limitations of feedback control. 2- Understand the utility of the Laplace transform and transfer functions for modeling a variety of electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. 3- Understand the relationship of the poles (and zeros)  of  a system’s transfer function to its response, including classical time-domain transient performance specifications such as overshoot, rise-time, and settling-time. 4- Understand the relationship of a system’s poles to its stability; and stability analysis using the Routh-Hurwitz test, and the root-locus and the Nyquist plot 5- Understand the utility of the frequency-response of a system in both analysis and design; relate time-domain specifications to requirements on the frequency response, including the phase margin, gain crossover frequency etc. 6- Design lag, lead, lag-lead and P/PI/PID controllers using the root-locus and frequency-response (Bode plot) techniques 7- Understand the role of integral control in guaranteeing performance robustness in the face of uncertainties; problems associated with integral control, especially integrator windup; anti-windup schemes to mitigate the effects of actuator saturation 8- Use Matlab® as a computational tool to assist in the above objectives

Feedback Control System analysis and design as described in the project description is well understood. My approach is based on George Biernson's highly insightful gain crossover approach. Relevant Skills and Experience 40 year career including a plethora of feedback control designs from constant LED intensity control, to phase lock loop frequency control to position/velocity/current loop motion control & many more. Proposed Milestones $4 USD - Generate block diagram model of given system. $4 USD - Develop frequency domain transfer functions for each block. $4 USD - Convert to equivalent unity feedback form. $4 USD - Determine required gain crossover frequency per system performance requirements. $4 USD - Set gain parameters to achieve said gain crossover frequencey $4 USD - Generate open loop, closed loop and error frequency domain transfer functions. $4 USD - Generate time domain impulse, step and ramp responses as appropriate to given problem. $7 USD - Develop and debug corresponding MATLAB model. Transfer functions will be developed using the MATLAB symbolic processor for greater insight and re-use in similar applications of the given problem.
