We are looking for a rockstar web scraper that is able to complete the following project. I need product info scraped from an online toy store. The final result needs to be an Excel file with data sorted into each column. The data that needs to be retrieved is seen below (these will also be the column heads in the final Excel sheet): 1. product title 2. SKU 3. UPC/EAN/ISBN 4. price 5. discounted price (if available) 6. main category 7. sub categories (the concatenated breadcrumb titles (comma separated)) 8. HTTP Link to the product page The website is : [login to view URL]:Utility3:See-All-Categories:Home-Page All products in the following categories need to be scraped and put into the Excel file. Great Deals Store What's New Clearance Top Rated Action Figures & Hero Play, NERF Blasters Arts & Crafts, Educational Toys, Books Baby, Toddler & Preschool Learning Toys Bikes, Scooters & Ride-Ons Building Blocks, LEGO Toys Cooking for Kids, Play Kitchen Sets Dolls, Dress Up, Stuffed Animals, Tween Electronics, Tech Toys, Movies, Music Games, Puzzles, Boutique Toys Outdoor Play, Kids Sports, Swimming Pools Party Supplies & Candy Shop Vehicles, Trains, RC Video Games Holiday Shops Kids' Clothes Kids Furniture I'm expecting the total row count for Excel to be around 10k though that's a simple guess on my part. I don't care if you use Java or Python. I need the final code pushed into a Github repo under my control. We expect the project to be completed in two days max. When submitting your bid please state 'I am the one and will be able to complete the project in two days'. Three days is acceptable but please state that if that is the case. We might need recurring scraping of the same categories on the online store. Therefore, please state your initial bid price to complete the entire project, and also include separately, the cost to rerun the web scrape. Thank you for your time, we look forward to your bid.

Hello! I am the one and will be able to complete the project in two days. To scrap 100k items in 2 days I need at list 5 servers + 50 dedicated proxies. So 30% of the budget are expenses for servers and proxies rent. Parsing data with Python is my main specialization for several years. I've done dozens of similar projects before and all of them were successfully finished and employers were fully satisfied. For your project I will use Python to scrap data and write it to CSV file. "I am the one and will be able to complete the project in two days" I am a data scientist with many years experience using Python for web scraping and data processing. So, I prospose a Python script which will output to a file of your choice (you may need to use csv though, due to the number of records). The setup of the website design appears simple enough to scrape, so the only issue will be running time, as you do require a large number of records - development time should be 1 day or less. From my experience querying each page will take ~1 second, or 3,600 an hour, so for your full set of records, 27 hours of running. It may be possible to increase this by up to 10 times though, using seperate query threads, althoguh this approach depends on whether toys r us have any security against web scraping or not... So, my proposal is for developing the script and the intial run (however long it takes, should be just under two days total). $50 for further runs. My academic education was in Ecology and Natural Resources management, up to masters level, during which I gained skills in quantitative data analysis, programming, and statistics. This lead me to take on roles in data management and analysis for environmental consultancies for over five years, and I have additional experience gained from volunteer work and my current work as a freelance data scientist and developer. Greetings, I looked over the Toys-R-Us site, and from the page structure it looks like a straightforward task. I'm not sure if I can commit to a two-day turnaround for the final product, but I will be able to get the code together by tomorrow (28-Oct). I prefer to work in Python 3, but I can use 2.7 if that's what you're running on your system. I have over 30 years of programming experience in languages including C/C++, VB, Perl, PHP, JavaScript and of course Python. Much of my recent experience outside of Freelancer.com has involved cleaning contact and mailing list databases, so scraping clean, well formatted data and writing it to Excel is no problem! One concern is whether the server will allow a full scrape without blocking the incoming IP address. If we need to throttle the requests to a reasonable rate, the run time for this project could span many hours. 10000 product detail requests at 5 second intervals works out to nearly 14 hours. The best plan would be to approach the scrape in a breadth-first manner, building up a file of product detail URLs so that the final pass can be stopped and restarted, if necessary.
