ML Problem Statement: Healthy food and drinks consumption can improve mental health and reduce hospital readmission rates. Eating a healthy and balanced diet, drink plenty of water and reduce or eliminate the intake of alcohol can reduce depression.1 The hypothesis aim is to address the problem of hospital readmission by improving the mental health of a patient via healthier eating and drinking. As part of our research, we have collected volunteers’ questionnaires around these three experimentations: 1. Nutritional knowledge leads to healthier food choices and by comparison no knowledge of nutrition leads to unhealthy food choices. 2. Reduce discretionary food cravings by offering similarly satisfying healthier food alternatives. 3. Reduce alcohol habits by offering similar tasting low-alcohol and alcohol-free alternatives. The questionnaires analysis should demonstrate that a mental health patient can improve their mental health by gaining a nutrition knowledge of the food they consume and be assisted with their alternative healthier food and drinks choices by having access to healthier swaps and having access to the swaps recipes. If successful, the findings of the experimentations will guide the development of another functionality of the Journi app, where the user will be able to gain more knowledge of nutrition and be assisted with the choices of healthier swaps of food and drinks. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms will be used within the Journi app to help the user make healthier food choices, by offering the nutrients information of any food selected within the app and predicting how the choice of certain food, their nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, good bacteria, healthy fats, and fibres, etc., and the combination of those nutrients, can improve brain health and function. ML will constantly improve the suggested food/alcohol swaps based on the user previous selection and their sentiments after consuming those swaps. 1 [login to view URL]\
