Hi, I am Image processing researcher with 5+ years of experience in the same. I am also involved in creating innovative Image processing research algorithms using MATLAB. My areas of interests include Point feature extraction algorithm such as SURF, SIFT, FREAK which evetually tries to find potential feature points using the Histogram of Oriented Gradients followed by 1X128 vector feature extractor. My reasearch area is also not confined to Object feature extraction technique which extracts global features such as FFT, Moments, Chain code etc. The problem mentioned by you can be easily tackeld by the point feature extraction method (proposed above). If we consider global currency collection, its a finite set (~100 in number). Hence it can be easily handled with the help of the above method. Point feature with a deep analysis of threshold and window size can extract accurate distiguishing feature set leading to identificaiton of a particular currency. Besides, I am a pro in Matlab with more than 7+ years of experience. Hope the above mentioned experience and skills suffice to finish the project succeffully.
