Please note, that I have attached a word file, incase if the below text is garbled / misaligned. I have to do the following in Matlab: Refer Table 1 in the attached word file I. Here, the present value compares the past two values to determine whether the current value is to be labeled UP or DOWN .i is the Sr.No. count For example, 1. When i=3, we compared the prices at i=2 and i=1 , as the Price at i=3 is lesser than or between the Price at i=2 & price at i=1, state as DOWN 2. Similarly when i=28, we compared the prices at i=27 and i=26 , so if the Price at i=28 is greater than the value i=27 & value i=26, state as UP, 3. Similarly when i=20, we compare the prices at i=19 and i=18, since the price is between the prices at i=19 and i=18, we state it as DOWN. So, what I am doing here is, • If the price at i is greater than the prices at i-1 and i-2, we label it as UP • If the price at i is lesser than the prices at i-1 and i-2, we label it as DOWN • If the price at i is in between the prices at i-1 and i-2, we label it the value found at i-1 II. Thus the final Result Table should show the following : a. The starting values (Price and Date) corresponding each UP or DOWN. For example, DOWN starts from i=3 , thus I want the corresponding price (8332) and the date (1/3/2015), similarly we can see that now an UP starts at i=6 on date(1/6/2015) at price (8333) and then a DOWN starts at i=8 on date(1/8/2015) at price (8255). See column 3 of Table 2 (Results Table) to get an understanding of this. b. The output result should also show the HIGH values amongst each UP Series and LOW values amongst each DOWN series and the respective dates which it was achieved on, for example, DOWN series starts from i=3 till i=5, thus the corresponding LOW values are LOW = 8123 which was made on 1/4/[login to view URL], UP starts from i=11 to 16, thus the LOW = 8385 was achieved on the 1/13/2015 and HIGH = 8490 was on the 1/15/2015 Thus the final result should appear in the following manner: NOTE: The last value in the Table 1 and Table 2 is on 1/28/2015, for which, currently the “UP” series is running, i.e. the HIGH VALUES with respect to this UP series is yet to achieve, so we keep it as NULL till the next DOWN series starts. Thus, we can ascertain the HIGH for an UP series and LOW for a DOWN series only when the series gets completed i.e. For the series to complete you would have to wait till the next series starts.
