Many of my systems are currently in use around the city and other centers in South Africa. The majority of systems that I build are networked, with the front end - back end structure that you describe, and have various modules, for example one system may have a stock keeping, costing, product barcode scanning and customer orders modules, with the various parts only accessible to specified members of staff with an Admin having access to all modules. (I see from the doc you attached that your current system contains siimilar modules / departments.) I have already developed a MS Access software from scratch that makes use of a front-end & back-end files. The front-end file gets connected to the back-end Access database dynamically, i.e., it looks for the file currently in its folder. The path to backend file could also be given to it using a Parameter Configuration screen. Moreover, it could also change the backend to SQL Server Database instead of MS Access. I'm working on this software since last 5 years and provide support to the client on this application whenever required. I've attached a sample database which is a scaled-down version of the project I mentioned above. It has some forms and a report which could be viewed in design mode. Although the VBA code has been taken out, the attached sample Software Manual was prepared with the help of working version of the project. Could further demonstrate its working upon request.
