There are few sites (outside of those produced by the "big weather shops" with a massive amount of resources) that rival the scope of what MWN provides. Then add the hours of dedication provided by our nowcasters during big weather events to keep you safe from the storm and aware of where the dangers lie! In order to continue to provide all of the great services that we offer - like the daily-updated MWN Forecast, StormView Radar, StormWatch weather alerts, a vault of climate information, and on and on - there are certain "hard costs" that have to be met monthly. Things like software and data fees to provide you with the weather information, internet hosting and bandwidth, equipment maintenance, etc. In addition, there are costs that we incur to expand our services or enhance ones we already offer. Bottom line: Income produced by MWN doesn't allow anyone to earn a living and it HAS to turn a small profit just to stay afloat and allow us to continue to develop new services, such as our mobile apps. Currently, all income produced by MWN is re-invested back into our products/services. I need to be changed cause I found this online be creative.
