Screen Capture to GIF

Write a utility to capture screen to **ANIMATED** Gif. 1) For performance reasons, the screen should first be recorded as RAW uncompressed AVI to a temporary directory. 2) When recording is finished, the recorded AVI should be converted to animated GIF format. At the time of conversion, user can specify the following: - Colors: Automatic (use max colors), 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256 - Frame Rate: Automatic (use max frame rate), 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 - Whether to loop indefinitely or only play N time(s), N specified by user - Palette option: i) Optimized Palette - This option will generate an optimized palette using all of the colors in all frames in the GIF file. This option typically produces a better quality and better looking GIF file than Fixed Palette. This option is enabled by default. ii) Fixed Palette - This option will generate a palette with a fixed set of colors. It may be useful if you must have the same palette used in multiple GIF files. For example, multiple animated GIF files playing on a Web page viewed on a 256-color desktop. - Whether to Include Windows colors - This option will include the standard Windows 20 colors in the GIF file palette (either Optimized Palette or Fixed Palette). This option typically produces the best results for screen recordings. This option should be enabled by default. - Whether to use Dithered color reduction - This option will apply a dithering effect during color reduction. Dithering attempts to smooth the effects of color reduction. - Video Size: Automatic (same as chosen window/screen size), 640x480, 720x480, 800x600, 1024x768, Custom size as specified by user. ## Deliverables Description cont'd: 3) Should support capturing the whole screen, any window with a HWND and a fixed region defined by the user by dragging the mouse on the screen.
