Add a text banner scroller to a PHP site

Client has a PHP website, with a CMS that allows contorl and editing of most of the site, but not the main parts of the home page. Client has just bought another company and will get their website to redirect to this site, but there is nothing on the home page that says about the aquisition. So, we were thinking of having something like this: [login to view URL] example 2, but using bigger fonts (perhaps images of text so it looks nice and not distorited) and full pge width. I can give you full access to Plesk, FTP, PHPMYadmin, MySQL and more, although I would have thought FTP is all you need. You will have to produce a mockup of the page for the client to agree, make a few refinements (font sizes, shadow, indent, etc) and then make the scrolling banner, perhaps more refinements (like scrolling speed)
