Hello, my name is Alejandro Bravo and I am a multi platform DBA with more than 15 years of experience.
I've done from architecture, setup, perfomance and tuning, environment consolidation, backup and recovery, etc
I'm Oracle Certified DBA, and also well versed in SQL server, mySQL and Mongodb
I recently master (2 days ago) setup a master-to-mysql replication and this setup is very similar, I can setup, document and explain so you can replicate in your production environment:
In a nutshell the process for master/slave is:
1) configure/prepare master, restart service, put the DB on read-only (so no further changes), take a backup, put DB back on read-write.
2)On Slave: restore, configure, restart service
3) test/confirm replication
Regards!
Alex
