Stabilize & Optimize Wordpress Installation for High Load

I have 18 years experience of managing Linux servers, 17 of those I was technical lead at a hosting company. I was responsible for everything from specifying the hardware, installation, diagnostics, monitoring, security and in house development work. My initial actions would be to diagnose your stability issue and whilst doing this secure the server if necessary. I would then install a monitoring system if you don't already have one that would store stats on various system and service parameters so we could check for ongoing issues and catch them quickly. If available I would also use snmp in this monitoring process to generate graphs of various system resources for quick visual identification of any problems. Once the server was stable I would then assist you with optimising the server for performance or any other task you may require me for. This type of work was the bread and butter of a shared hosting company and one that I am experienced in.
