I have an iso image (CentOS 6.4) that has to be installed interactively, i.e. before proceeding to the installation of the image I have to enter some data into the welcome screen, such hostname, partition format, etc. However, I would like to skip it and use predefined options, so the image would be able to go straight to the installation. I need it for using with Cobbler and PXE. Basically, I need the iso image to act as a normal CentOS CD, but with customised changes (they should be static and always the same). The welcome screen probably has been written in C as there are 2 files with extensions .c32 and .elf, that are probably request the info at the start and pass it somewhere else. Also, I tried to use Clonezilla and Mondorescue, though without luck

Hello, I have done modifications of CentOS live and install disks before. The thing you want to edit, for the installation to change, is the kickstarter file. There you can describe the partition layout, packages to install, etc.

To get you running quick, I can help with creating the kick start file with your settings, and set this inside an ISO. When you boot the iso, you can start the kickstart installation of centos.

Hi, I have many years experience working with Linux based distros. I have done both UI customizations and complete builds from scratch to run on embedded and portable devices. I'm certain I can get this working for you in a day, or two max. Removing the GUI prompts and using static values shouldn't involve any coding, just removing the GUI prompts and storing the static values in their proper places in the file system.
