what I am trying to do is setup a tracking pixel and save that data in a database the way I thought of doing it was to use logstash to take apache access logs and push them into hadoop. I wanted this setup on AWS you may have a better idea of how we could do this though and I am open to suggestions? I am able to do the front end JS to get the request made for the gif with some parameters so I do not need that done, nor do I need the logstash configured as I will do this once I have setup the front end. All I need is the technologies setup and able to talk to each other

I have +10 years of experience in programming. To be honest, I did not exactly get what you mean. Do you want to have a picture on your server which you include some where in html and be able to track statistics of access to that page with image and have data in your database? If yes, you are right, one way is monitoring apache log. It can simply done if you give me access to your server in a few hours. Please let's discuss more about details when you have time. I have one year experience with hadoop and working in a big data analytics firm as team lead. First discuss the project with me so that i can understand what exactly you want. And most of people bidding here must have no idea of hadoop and mapreduce. So even if you don't choose me. Dont for for someone who is doing it for cheap ;)
