You may consider other already available software solutions. However I can provide you a few simple Java implementation that would provide "some" security in less than a day

It looks like your host provider gives you the ability to do this already. I would be glad to help show you how, and will point you in the right direction for other simple tasks like this so you won't have to pay others. You don't need Java solutions or anything else compicated to get started. If your website requires extremly high security in the future, then you can seek help with some of the other providers that have responded to your project placment. Do you just want to protect the whole site, a certain page or directory? Anyway on a linux server that's more than straight forward - thus won't charge for it (thus mininum quote). If it's more complex let me know, there are various ways to do it. Be happy to quote then.
