We have a device which connects using USB ports, but has a USB Serial Emulator running on the device, and all communication with the device is via "Serial Communication". There is a working driver for Windows, which is just a .inf file linking the vendorID and productID to usbser.sys. (Device shows up as a COM port). We need a developer who can write us a driver for OSX (essentially to get the device to show up as a /dev/cu device ). We are looking for this to be finished within 1 month. We are also seeking a developer to write a very simple application that can be cross-platform (Windows / OSX) that does a few simple communication procedures with the device (the cost of this design is not included in this budget). If this is also within your skill set, we can discuss this as well.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am Alberto Illobre from AldoIlsant.com. We have extensive experience in device driver development in Windows, Linux and OS X. We have developed touchscreen drivers, USB drivers, drivers for custom devices (including a Usb to serial adapter for Windows) and even a full XHCI stack, mostly for clients living in the states. Our members are either teachers or Ph.D. students from Spanish universities, in Design and Implementation of Operating Systems. Please check our portfolio at www.aldoilsant.com. I know that you ask for North American developers only and we reside in Spain, but I thought I might offer anyway seeing that the current number of bids and suitable candidates are low. We never found any problems in shipping and with some providers you can get the hardware here (Spain) within 4-5 days. Some of the driver work is device independent, and thus I don't think this deadline will not affect the deadline. We have always worked this way, even with sensitive hardware (e.g. devices from Synexxus Inc. a USA defense company). Hi from Michigan. I've programmed USB to Serial devices on the Mac and Windows for Point Of Sale devices. So I think I know the ins and outs. Will you be able to ship a prototype to me so I can test in house, or do you have the serial specs. Thanks Eric
