I have Windows 8. I want a special "copy to clipboard" utility that I can execute via a keyboard quick-key combination. Here is what is unique about what I want: Normally, a person highlights a selection in a file or webpage and hits Control-C to copy the selection to the Clipboard. I want to add to this normal operation. In addition to the selection I want the path of the webpage, if the selection was from a browser, or the file, if the selection was from an open file. The path should be separated from the contents of the selection by an empty line. In addition, I would also like the utility to then paste this combination of selection + path into a new note in ResophNotes. Hi, this can't be done for *any* application. In some applications the clipboard is just a anonym temporal memory. I can detect the URL from IE, source file maybe from Office apps, etc. but for example, I can't detect the source file if you copy text from Notepad without nasty tricks (and probably not precise like reading the titlebar of the app and looking for the handles in the process). Can you send me a list of applications you need to support?
