My Device uses an older version Android 4.2.2, need to upgrade to minimum 5.0 (1GB RAM). Question: Can you modify a signed android boot...fastboot puts the device in maskrom mode (this is a rockchip device) but none of the maskrom utilities i've tried will actually write to the device and they will only read from the device on the older generation devices that used to use 2 chips to make up our mtd storage rather than the single chip in the newer ones. we also cannot mod the recovery image since it is derived from the boot image with a patch. Our devices will not update through settings for sure. This only works for device manufactures that are actively updating over the internet, something our jpay tablets certainly won't be doing.
