I need a compact electronic circuit (probably using IGBTs and a capacitor) that can deliver a damped pulse of 400 amps from an 800-volt power supply in less than 5 microseconds into an inductive load (damped LRC circuit). I need to be able to deliver pulses in both directions. The switches should be triggerable with TTL pulses, with low jitter. If you are in the Washington DC area or can travel here, that would be a plus. I have attached a potential configuration.

Hello, I have designed something similar to plasma arc coat aluminium. This required high frequency pulsing of 400+V at a few amps. The current was not as high due to the requirements, but this is not a problem. I think this is very interesting and look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Hugo

Hi. Due to current amount you require during about 5 microseconds, repeated with a frequency of about 1 KHz, I supouse you have a project like these ones: (1) Plastic surface preparation for printing (2) Metal cutting, like "wire electro-cutting" (3) Any kind of soldering process (4) Other application that does not come to my mind now. I work with very wide type industrial processes, from control systems to power control and implementation. We develop our own electronic solutions (PCB desing and implementation) to some of these tasks. As a note, the implementation can be quite different from the one shown in your schematic due to another considerations. Please, let me help you in your project.
