Printer status

I need a function where you pass a commondialog hDC. In return you recive the printer status and jobs number. In my program i use a commondialog control to show a printer dialog box. This control return a handle to the device context of the printer (hDC), but not a handle to the printer (this is the problem). All i want is to know the number of printer jobs of the selected printer in the commondialog box.
